Welcome to 2015!

happy new year

It’s hard to believe the end of the year is here! It’s been a year full of wonderful, exciting books. I’ve read some amazing stories this year that have taken me on adventures on pirate ships, time travelled to my favourite time periods and solved mysteries with Regency spies. I have been so blessed to discover new authors that have quickly joined my ‘must read list’ as well as more stories from my favourite authors.

This year I started this blog and have been so fortunate to have people who read the reviews I write and share, respond and like the things I have written. Thank you to everyone for helping me reach my goals!

I have found myself reading books that I may have not picked up before. I have read my first gothic novel (Thank you Lauren Smith), embraced time travelling and read about the working poor of London. I think it’s healthy to try new things and next on my list is to embrace steam punk. If there are any genres you think I should try – let me know! I’m all ears!

So the most popular post on the site this year was my review of Captivated By You by Sylvia Day. It is the most searched item and continually gets views even though it has been out for a month and a half. I share the passion people have for Gideon and Eva and I can’t wait to read the final installment in the series – hopefully we won’t have to wait as long as last time!

Another very popular post was my review of Shana Galen’s upcoming release Earl’s Just Want To Have Fun, from her new series Covenant Garden. For all of you that read that review and are die hard fans like me…here is a teaser. Shana has graciously agreed to a Q & A and it will be published on this site in less than a week!! She will also be giving away some swag! Check back on Monday to get the details!

The third most popular post was my author review of the incomparable Judith McNaught. This was not a surprise as she is like the touchstone of all historical romance novels. I don’t think her stories will ever leave me and I will always use her as the benchmark for excellence.

Of course a big hit on this site was also the latest by Monica McCarty, The Arrow. It was the very first ARC I received and I am still surprised that the publisher gave me a copy. I was ready to beg, but they graciously gave me a copy and it spurred me to get blogging. Monica has revealed on twitter that she is finishing the books in the series and I think there are two more coming out…yippee!

Thank you for a wonderful 2014! I am so happy to be sharing the wonderful books I have the fortune to read. I am actually giddy with excitement just imagining all the wonderful books I will read in the coming year!

  1. Happy New Year!

I have really enjoyed reading your reviews and some of the books are now on my must-read list. Judith McNaught has a special place in my heart because it was Whitney, My Love that first introduced me to Historical Romance. She has a lot to answer for. LOL!

  2. Happy New Year to you and your followers! 2014 was an exciting year in many ways but I have a feeling that 2015 will be even better! Thank you once again for your gorgeous review of A Most Improper Proposal! HUGS! XXX
