Top Ten Tuesday – Spring TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is back!  I took a hiatus from doing these meme since my blogging platform was not conducive to it since the format changed. WordPress has listened to my fervent pleas and now I can once again link to previous posts!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish.  Each week features a different theme that can be applied to whatever genre of books you like to read.  This week’s theme is the Spring to-be-read list!  It’s a fun list to create because I got to look at the books I will be reading next!

I’m a pretty linear thinker in my live.  I’d love to be abstract, but I like to keep things on the straight and narrow, which includes my method of picking what book to read next.  I get about 90% of the books I read from Netgalley.  While I LOVE getting ARC books, they usually come with timelines.  Sometime the publisher needs the reviews right away so they can get feedback on the plot or for quotes to be used for promotion.  So this structure, combined with my linear thinking means that I usually just read whatever book is closest to publication date.  That being said, I have two books on this list that authors have sent me and I have been slowly making my way to getting to read them.

someone like you

Someone Like You (The Harrison Series) by Jennifer Gracen

This book is a sports themed romance book!  First book by this author and looking forward to reading it!

luck is no lady

Luck is No Lady by Amy Sandas

Ummmm…look at this cover!  How could I NOT request this book!  I am hoping it is as steamy as the models on the cover!  Check back in a week or two to find out!

the wedding pact

The Wedding Pact (The O’Malleys Series) by Katee Robert

I really enjoy reading Katee Robert books, so I snatched this one up right away!  From the blurb, I’m getting Romeo and Juliet vibes from this book, so I am very excited to read it!

remembering you

Remembering You by Audra North

THis is a book put out by the publishing house, Samhain.  This publisher is in serious jeopardy of folding and many authors are losing out.  Not only does this book feature a SWAT member, it is the first book I have read by this author.  Part of the reason I requested this book is that I want to support Samhain and the author before the publisher closes.

rushing the goal

Rushing the Goal (The Assassins Series) by Toni Aleo

This is a hockey contemporary romance.  I probably don’t need to add more than that if you have been reading this blog.  I’m really digging this sub genre!  I just saw a positive review for the book on Twitter so now I am even more excited to read it!

the study of seduction

The Study of Seduction (The Sinful Suitors Series) by Sabrina Jeffries

This book is by Sabrina Jeffries.  That is all I need to say.  I will one click or request anything she writes because I know that the master author will provide me with a great story!

The rogue

The Rogue (A Highland Guard novella) by Monica McCarty

This will be the very last Highland Guard novel I will read.  It’s the end of the series!  I have been seriously in love with this series and it was the catalyst for starting this blog.  I can’t recommend reading these books enough!  Plus, this book features the athlete/model Stuart Reardon on the cover.  I have a huge fan girl crush on him, so I will definitely enjoy this one!

honor and roses

Honor & Roses by Elizabeth Cole

I have loved her books and was very lucky to have Elizabeth send me a copy of this book.  I am getting very close to cracking this book open!  Elizabeth did a Q & A with me last week about this new series and her writing process!

how to capture a duke

How to Capture A Duke by Bianca Blythe

This will be the first book I have read by this author.  This VERY patient author!  She sent me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, but I haven’t been able to get to it yet.  I swear that February was one of the busiest months I have ever had as so many books were being published!  I actually had 6, yes 6, books published on one day!  So like Elizabeth Cole’s book, this is high on my priorities to get to!

when a laird loves a lady.jpg

When a Laird Loves A Lady by Julie Johnstone

I have recently found Julie’s books and I’m very fortunate that she sends me ARC copies to read.  I have this on my list and I will be getting to it very soon.  It’s a medieval romance featuring a Laird.  So basically a hot and bossy Scot.  Can’t wait!

  1. Luke is No Lady and Study of Seduction were good. I didn’t know Monica McCarty had a new novella, so I will have to look into that one. I am excited for The Ghost by her 🙂
