Chased Part One and Two by Piper Lawson
Overview by Amazon:
Being a twenty-one-year-old screw-up has its perks:
Sleepwalk through class.
Drink all day.
Nail anything that walks.
In another lifetime, I was the fastest guy at Fielding College. I broke more track records than anyone on the West Coast.
But since my world fell apart last year, all I want is to be left the hell alone.
Ariel Hastings isn’t just a wrench in that plan–she’s a bomb. The quiet girl with secrets shows up out of nowhere and suddenly our fates are tied together. She wants to run with me, learn from me, even live with me…everything but f*ck me.
Now we’re spending way too much time together and it’s threatening to bring back the old Chase Owens. I crave something she won’t give me and I sure as hell can’t ask for.
Because we’ve both got pasts that won’t let go. Even if I can survive hers, we can’t outrun mine.
CHASED is 2 POV (mostly male) with f-bombs and seriously steamy scenes.

I really enjoy books that let the reader into a man’s mind. I always wonder if the author has a best guy friend that they tap into or if their partner let’s them into the mystery that is a guy’s thoughts.
I haven’t read a book in a while that features characters still in school, so it was a good refresh of what it’s like to be studying, attending frat parties and questioning the future.
Ariel and Chase are both runners on the track team at their California college. Ariel isn’t quite fast enough and Chase disappeared for six months. They are both trying to get their coach to give them another chance. Hell has frozen over for Chase because he has to work with Ariel to get back on the team. I liked how the quiet Ariel and Chase got to know one another. Chase is actually kind of a dick and while I knew he’d fall for Ariel, I wanted her to give him a challenge because he needed to be knocked down a peg or five.
The first book explores their lives at college, their feelings and lives. They begin to explore a relationship together and share their inner most thoughts and desires. Chase has had a very rough life. He grew up with the parents from hell and has fought tooth and nail to get where he is. This makes him a sympathetic character and I almost felt bad for thinking he was a dick at the beginning of the story.
Ariel has had a charmed life and is still very cosseted by her father. There was one scene with Chase, Ariel and her dad that had me choking in shock. Think your worst nightmare involving sex and parents. I loved the sex between the two, especially because it was told from both perspectives so you could see how happy they both were. Chase is proficient at sex, but with Ariel, the emotions enter the scene.
The second book features heavily on Chase’s past coming to the future. Things get a little heavy with this plot twist. It takes the story far away from the idyllic runs in the woods that Ariel and Chase used to take. It’s a good thing they have established a relationship and intimacy because the threat to the future would shake other couples.
Overall, these two short books make for a full length romance that is unique and engaging. Check it out!
